Self-directed physical activity for families

The City of Kuopio is collecting information on how to improve the possibilities for families’ self-directed physical activity

The study charts the needs of families with children related to physical activity, their relationship with physical activity and examines parents’ willingness to organise activities themselves. As a result of this study, the city acknowledges how families could utilize the city spaces for self-directed physical activity.

This study is carried out by Aino Karvonen, a service design student in Savonia University of Applied Sciences, as a part of her training and thesis in 2024. As a part of this study the City recognizes how design education could integrated into the physical activity services for families.
