General and special grants of the City of Kuopio
The City of Kuopio allocates yearly funding in the city’s budget to support the civic activities of its residents.
The City of Kuopio awards discretionary grants to associations that are domiciled in Kuopio or that will use the grant in the city of Kuopio. The grants are awarded either as general grants or as special grants.
General grants
The general grants are awarded to applicants for a one-year period. The general grant can be awarded for activities compliant with the association’s action plan and the City of Kuopio Strategy.
The deadline for the 2024 general grant is on 30 November 2023. Late submissions are not accepted. Required appendices include the association’s action plan and budget for the year 2024. Drafts are also accepted.
Please check that all the necessary appendices are included before submitting the online application.
Special grants
The special grant is intended for the applicant’s development activities and unexpected costs that occur during the year. The special grant is open for application throughout the year without a specific deadline. The application must be submitted before the activity is begun. The special grant can be applied for with the same form as the general grant.
The grant applications concern the following association groups:
- Sports associations
- Youth associations
- Culture associations and cultural actors
- Grants for artists’ work spaces
- Residents’ and village associations
- Pensioner associations
- Associations for public health and disabilities
- Other associations
