Experimental activities
An experiment in which a new technology, raw material, manufacturing or burning method or cleaning device is tested, or waste is treated in an institutional or professional manner is considered a short-term, experimental activity. The experiment examines the impacts of the activities, their usefulness or other similar factors.
The activity must be reported to the authorising body in writing no later than 30 days before the start of the activity. The activity must not cause danger or damage to the environment, nor unreasonable strain on the neighbourhood. The results of the experiment must be reported in writing to the environmental authority.
The processing of the notification is subject to a fee approved by the City of Kuopio’s Environmental and Building Board.
Before submitting a notification, it is a good idea to contact the environmental protection office holder by telephone or e-mail. This will enable the matter to progress smoothly and helps in avoiding unnecessary notifications.
