The park area offers a setting for play, relaxation, and hobbies. In winter, Brahenpuisto Park has long had a tradition of “goind down the Samuli Hill”. Younger park`s history on the shore of Kuopionlahti Bay

In the 20th century, a park-like area began to be built around Brahenpuisto Park. The station map of 1925 shows clear changes in the demarcation of the green area and park compositions. Today, on the northern edge of the park, in the tree alley of Brahenkatu Street, grows approximately 80-year-old linden trees. The newest of the trees and vegetation are the silver willows, the purple-red palms, and the sprigs.

The first playground equipment was placed in the park in the 1950s. The history of Brahenpuisto Park on its current form dates to 1988, when a playground known as ‘’Pikku Kakkonen Park’’ was built in the area. The park experienced the latest change in 2012, when it was renovated both in terms of the environment and the playground equipment.
