By decision of the Urban Structure Board of the City of Kuopio in the area of the City of Kuopio and in small boat harbours, in addition to laws and decrees and provisions issued under them, the port order decided by the Urban Structure Board and the following provisions shall be complied with.
The City Structure Board of the City of Kuopio decides on the rental prices for boat facilities.
The berths, rowing, parks and driftboats and winter storage facilities owned by the City of Kuopio are leased by lease period on the following terms:
-
- A boat berth can be rented by a private individual or a company. The use of a boat berth for business or commercial activities must be agreed upon separately.
- The tenant of the boat berth must keep their personal data (phone number, address, e-mail and boat data) up to date. The information can be changed in the electronic service or by notifying kaupunkiymparisto@kuopio.fi. The City is not responsible for the loss of the berth caused by expired contact details. Providing false and incorrect information will result in loss of the berth.
- Rentals for boating seasons: open water season at berths, 1 May–30 November; rowing, park and roller mooring areas 1 May–30 April
- Rental of a previously leased boat berth can be renewed for the following period by paying for the berth in the electronic reservation system annually by the due date. Payment can also be made at service points.
- (At the same time, the renter undertakes to comply with the rental terms and conditions. The lease is considered renewed for the next season, when the payment for the boat berth made by the due date has been registered in the City’s account. The lease will not be renewed if the boat berth fee is not paid by the due date of the invoice.)
- Rental of the boat berth to a third party is prohibited.
- The renter is responsible for ensuring that the size and model of the boat is suitable for storage in the rented boat berth.
- Boats on piers must not cause damage to port facilities and third parties. The renter of the boat berth is responsible for any damage.
- The boat must be moved from the berth to winter storage before the berth freezes.
- A boat with a weight such that it can be pulled ashore with its stern above the waterline may be kept at the rowing, park, and roller mooring area.
- At the rowing, park and roller mooring site, you can keep the rowboat over the winter at your own risk. The width of the rowing boat and the roller set must not exceed 1.6 m and the engine power must not exceed 20 hp.
- The City has the right to change the leased berth in the middle of the lease period due to maintenance and construction work, or if the dimensioning of the boat or the berth so requires.
- The City is not responsible for guarding boats or for any damage to boats in the harbours or winter storage areas. Deficiencies and damages in harbour and boat facilities must be reported immediately to the Urban Environment customer service.
- Only the City may construct pier equipment in harbour areas. The City has the right to issue orders for the storage of the boat in harbour and other areas where the boat is located.
- The City may issue a request for transfer to the boat if – the rent for the boat berth is unpaid – the boat is in an unauthorised berth – the boat is not suitable to the berth for its size or other reason – has otherwise been placed against instructions
- Winter storage period 1 September–31 May
- The winter storage site must be cleaned by the renter by 1 June. Boat trailers and trestles must be removed or moved to a designated area in the harbour. If the measures are neglected, the City may commission the work at the renter’s expense.
- The boat can also be kept at the winter storage site in the summer. Storage must be agreed separately with the Urban Environment customer service. A valid winter storage site fee is charged for the placement.
- The City has the right to order the boat to be transferred if repair or maintenance work is carried out in the area, etc.
