Treatment of children’s injuries caused by accidents and reimbursement of costs in early childhood education and care

The City of Kuopio has voluntary group personal accident insurance for the children with If Vahinkovakuutus Oyj. An accident is a sudden external incident that causes bodily injury and that is involuntary on the part of the insured. Treatment must be sought immediately, however at the latest within 14 days of the accident. Early childhood education and care staff are responsible for guiding a child who has sustained injuries in an accident to treatment and for providing advice to the guardian.
