School enrolment
Enrolment in grade 1
Children who were born in 2018 will start their school paths in autumn 2025. Enrolment in grade 1 should primarily be done using the Internet-based Wilma application between 1 December 2024 and 7 January 2025. A letter about school enrolment will be sent to the guardians of future first-graders in week 48. The letter contains instructions for enrolling electronically. If the guardians are unable to use electronic enrolment, they can enrol their child using the registration form contained in the letter by 7 January 2025. Enrolment in pre-primary education provided by basic education
Children who were born in 2019 will start in pre-primary education in autumn 2025. Basic education organises pre-primary education at Kissakuusenkoulu and at Pihkainmäki School. Electronic enrolment should be made using Wilma application between 2 January 2025 and 31 January 2025. A letter will be mailed to the guardians in week 52.
Enrolment in instruction preparing for basic education
Basic education age pupils who do not have Finnish language proficiency or whose Finnish proficiency is not yet sufficient for studying in their local school participate in instruction preparing them for basic education.
