Kuopio Region Sports Academy activities in sports classes
Morning training
Pupils in sports classes are offered an opportunity to participate in morning training. The training is organised in cooperation with local sports clubs and Kuopio Region Sports Academy’s skills coach. Space for the morning training is reserved in the timetable on Tuesdays (grades 7 to 9) and Thursdays (grades 8 to 9) between 8:00 and 9:30. The pupils need an access card to enter Kuopio Sports Hall. They can pick up their access cards by giving their name to the checkout at Kuopio Sports Hall (price €7.90). Morning training takes place outside school time, and the school is not responsible for it. If the pupil’s club does not organise its own morning training or only organises part of it, the pupil is welcome to participate in skills coaching.
Skills and physical attribute coaching
Students in sports classes at Jynkänlahti School and Hatsala Classical School are offered an opportunity to participate in skills and physical attribute coaching coordinated by Kuopio Region Sports Academy. Pupils participate in this skills and physical attribute coaching in their own time before the school day. The schools or Kuopio Region Sports Academy are not responsible for insuring the pupils or their travel to the training venues. The skills coaching is intended for groups in all sports that do not have their morning training on that morning.
Pupils in grade 7 can participate in the coaching on Tuesday mornings, and those in grades 8 and 9 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The training times on Tuesdays and Thursdays are from 8:00 to 9:30. As a rule, the training takes place at Jynkänlahti School (Jynkänlahti pupils) and Kuopio Sports Hall (Hatsala Classical School pupils) in alternating weeks, making the pupils’ transitions to school shorter. Should they wish, the pupil of one school can also participate in training at the other school.
