Hospital school

Alava School is the City of Kuopio’s hospital school. Alava School organises instruction at Kuopio University Hospital and the NEVA unit at Niuvanniemi Hospital for basic education age children and young people who have been admitted for examinations and treatment. Pupils receiving out-patient treatment also study at the hospital school.

In addition to hospital school, Alava School also offers hospital pedagogy competence for basic education in the City of Kuopio. Consulting special needs teachers and mobile special needs teaching assistants are subordinate to our school.
