Tuomaansalo campfire site
Tuomaansalo is located in central Kallavesi, about 10 km from Kuopio city centre. To the west of the island there is a bay with a deep shore sheltered from most winds, which is ideal for landing. The rocky island is a popular boating destination. The shores of the rocky promontory in the middle of the bay are so deep that it can be moored by a sailboat. Strong northwesterly winds can make landfall difficult. The island is located 3.0 m near the shipping lane. The place is best approached from the north side of the island, being careful of the rocks and rocks marked on the nautical chart on the west side of the island. To the west and south of the island are the protected bird islands Tölpät and Paskosaari, where disembarkation is prohibited between 1.5-31.7. Moving around these islands should be avoided during the bird’s nesting season. There is a firewood supply at the site.
