Iivarinsalo
Iivarinsalo is located in central Kallavesi between the deep passage and the passage leading to Vehmersalmi. The northeastern peninsula of Iivarinsalo is surrounded by natural sandy beaches, which are ideal for swimming and sunbathing, for example. The island is one of the most popular boating destinations in the Kallavesi archipelago and is suitable for overnight stays and temporary stays. To the north of the island there are protected small islands; Piippuluoto and Korppiluoto, where disembarkation is prohibited during the bird’s nesting period 1.5.-31.7., when moving in their vicinity should be avoided in other ways as well. There is a firewood supply at the site and there are plenty of campfire sites available. In the southern part of the island there are bases for Kuopio Yacht Club and Lake Rescuers. Strong easterly and northeasterly winds may make landfall more difficult.
In the northern parts of Iivarinsalo there is a marked trail about 1.8 km long. Iivarinsalo path retkikartta.fi service
