Super fun activities for children and young people in Kuopio during the autumn holidays!
In Kuopio the autumn holiday is the Super Autumn Holiday. There’s plenty to do for schoolchildren and families on holiday in the city. If it rains, you can drop in at the sports halls, cultural venues or youth centers. There is plenty to do free of charge.
During the holiday week from Monday to Friday 14-18 October, visitors under 18 years of age can swim free of charge all day in Kuntolaakso and Lippumäki pools. In Kuopio Hall, persons under 18 years of age can exercise free of charge from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 4 pm, unless there are other reservations. The Kuopio Hall gym is open to persons aged 15 and over. Other activities include bowling, climbing and padel camps for schoolchildren of different ages.
The main exhibitions at Kuopio Museum and Kuopio Art Museum have enough to see and experience for a whole day. During the holiday week, the museums have activities for children and young people, guided workshops and guided tours. The Ysäri exhibition at the Old Kuopio Museum includes a Slam book. Free admission to Kuopio City Museums, the Orthodox Church Museum RIISA and the VB Photography Centre for persons under 18 years of age. Kuopio City Theatre also has plenty to see during the autumn holiday week, including the family-friendly fantasy adventure MOMO, the hilarious comedy The Dead Awake and the emotional hit musical Blood Brothers.
Super Autumn Holiday also includes a wide range of workshops, courses and day camps, including dance, crafts, nature camp, sports, games and design. There are also plenty of activities on offer at the youth centres, including cooking, crafts, tournaments and lanes. For example, the Männistö Latari will make a day trip to the Seinävuori Valley on 14 October and there will be a free Rock the Club event at Kulttuuriareena 44 on 12 October.
