Who would you nominate for the Safety in Action Award?

City of Kuopio annually presents the Safety Achievement Award to a person or community that has improved safety through their own actions or has taken an initiative that leads to improved safety.

Actions to improve safety may be aimed at, for example, combating vandalism and crime, preventing social exclusion and violence, preventing substance abuse problems or repairing environmental damage that endangers safety. The prize can be awarded to any individual, workplace, association, organisation or public authority.

The winner of the Safety Award is selected by a jury, which is formed by a multidisciplinary safety working group of the City of Kuopio. Tiina Nykky, coordinator of addiction prevention work, will act as secretary of the jury.

The award ceremony will take place in November 2024.

Nominations for the 2024 award must be submitted by Friday 4.10.2024 to Kuopio City Hall, Tulliportinkatu 31, by post to Kuopion kaupunki, kirjaamo, PL 228, 70101 KUOPIO or by e-mail to kirjaamo@kuopio.fi. On the envelope, mark ‘Turvallisuusteko’.

A prize lottery will be held between the nominators of the prize, who will receive a Kuopio product package.
