Public event on the use of a small nuclear reactor in district heat production

City of Kuopio is organising a public event on the use of small nuclear reactors in district heat production. Experts from Kuopio Energia, VTT Technology Research Centre, Steady Energy and the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) will open the discussion and answer questions.

The event will take place on Thursday 5 September 2024 at 17-19.30 at the Council House Valtuustotalo (valtuustosali Council Hall), Suokatu 42.

The aim of the event is to show the residents what small nuclear reactors are and how they can be used in district heat production. The event will also cover licensing, control and land use planning as part of the design of small nuclear reactors.

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the topic with the experts involved. Coffee will be served. Welcome to join us!
