Kuopio Art Museum’s year culminates in a free admission day on New Year’s Eve
Nearly 10 000 more visitors than in 2022
Kuopio Art Museum has been buzzing with record-breaking visitor numbers. More than 60 000 visitors have visited the museum so far, including those who have visited GalleriA and the art gallery. More than 30 200 visitors have already visited the museum’s own exhibitions. This represents an increase of almost 10 000 visitors compared to the previous year.
But the year is not over yet, and we are celebrating before the end of the year by offering art lovers free admission to our exhibitions. On New Year’s Eve 31 December, Kuopio Art Museum is open free of charge from 10am to 3pm.
Kuopio Art Museum’s exhibition year 2023 has been full of interesting and bold openings, the most successful of which was the summer street art exhibition Kannun henki. Currently on display is the long-awaited Juho Rissanen – The Bustle of Photography. The exhibition offers a new perspective on Rissanen, highlighting not only his art but also his life and personality. Reijo Kärkkäinen’s retrospective exhibition So Far is full of visual spectacle. Kärkkäinen’s rough and tumble art is on display until 28.1.2024 and is a must-see, so start planning your visit to the art museum now.
