Puijo Tower will be illuminated in blue and white to celebrate Independence Day

One of Kuopio’s most famous symbols, Puijo Tower, will be festively dressed in the colours of Finnish flag this Independence Day. In its 60-year history, the tower has been decorated in a variety of spectacular colours, but never before has it been illuminated in blue and white. The illumination of the tower will begin at 15:00 on 6 December 2023.

– The illumination of Puijo Tower in blue and white is a wonderful celebration of Finland’s independence and 60th anniversary of Puijo Tower. We are delighted to produce blue and white illumination together with City of Kuopio and Puijo’s restaurants for the enjoyment of all,” says Pekka Niemelä, managing director of Puijo Peak.

In addition to the Independence Day atmosphere, you can also get into the Christmas spirit at Puijo hill when Puiijo Christmas path, a spectacular display of lights and sounds, will be open from 4 December to 7 January 2024. The restaurants in the area will also serve admirers of the tower and visitors to the Christmas path.
