Kuopio citizens celebrate Independence Day at the Music Centre

Independence Day celebration, open to all Kuopio residents, will take place on Wednesday 6.12.2023 at Kuopio Music Centre. Coffee reception for the public starts at 12:00 in Valohalli Hall and the celebration in the concert hall at 13:00.

The theme of this year’s celebration is Children and Youth – A Good Future. Kuopio City orchestra will perform under the direction of principal conductor Eugene Tzigane. The programme will also include collective singing.

The celebration will be streamed live and can be followed online.

Visitors can park at the Music Centre car parking. If the parking is full, you can also use the parking hall under the Market Square.

Free admission to the celebration and coffee reception.

Karelian Air Force will organise a traditional wreath-laying ceremony at Sankaripuisto Park and Kuopio Cemetery from 12:00. On Independence Day there will be church services and wreath-laying ceremonies throughout Kuopio region.
