City of Kuopio participates in the European Quality Award: participate and evaluate Kuopio
City of Kuopio is among the first Finnish municipalities to take part in the European Good Governance Awards (ELoGE – European Label of Governance Excellence).
By answering the questionnaire, you have the opportunity to influence the activities of the City of Kuopio. In the survey, we compare the quality of local government with other European municipalities. You can answer the survey digitally. During December, the questionnaire can also be completed on paper in Kuopio city libraries. Both surveys can be completed until the end of the year.
The survey collects the opinions of Kuopio residents on municipal policies and services in the city. By taking part in the survey and giving your opinion, you can help improve Kuopio’s services and local democracy. The results of the survey will be used to compare Kuopio’s level of good governance with municipalities in other European countries. The aim is to identify what Kuopio does well and where it needs to improve.
Ten Finnish municipalities participate
Ten municipalities across the country are participating: Tohmajärvi, Parikkala, Kuopio, Iitti, Kristiina, Merikarvia, Masku, Kolari, Hailuoto and Kittilä. Kuopio is the largest of the participating municipalities.
Before Finland, 17 other European countries have already participated in the program. As Finland now joins the European program, it also brings a Finnish perspective to the debate on what good governance is and what role participation plays in it.
