Famous Raschèr saxophone quartet will perform in front of Kuopio City Orchestra on 26 October.
Kuopio City Orchestra’s Diamond Path seasonal concert on Thursday 26 October at 18:00 will feature a rare visit when the entire Raschèr Saxophone Quartet will play in front of the orchestra.
The ensemble will perform the Philip Glass Concerto for four saxophones composed for them. The orchestra will be conducted in the Kuopio Music Centre Concert Hall by award-winning conductor Karen Kamensek.
The Finnish premiere of Camille Pepin’s Vajrayana (Diamond Path) will set the mood for the concert, which will conclude with Robert Schumann’s Symphony No 2, which turns from darkness to light.
Before the concert, at 17.30 in the Light Hall, there will be a Concert Information session open to all, where you can meet the evening’s conductor Karen Kamensek and a member of the Raschèr Quartet.
Tickets for the Diamond Trail Concert: €33 / €27 seniors and groups of 20 or more / €11 children under 16 and students / €4 day-of-concert advance ticket for students and persons under 20 years old.
